"Redemption on the Red River" is an historical adventure romance set in 1800's America. Anna's heart is shattered when her fiancé is manipulated by his father into breaking off their engagement. Determined to make something of her life in spite of his derision of her abilities and chosen career, Anna, a newly trained young teacher, takes a steamer downriver to Indian country—to pupils who barely understand schooling, a war raging around them all, and an Indian vendetta that ultimately threatens her life. In the end she must choose between the man she would have married before he spurned her for his career, who has reappeared in her life, and the man who has become her protector and hero.

THE AUTHOR:  Cheryl Riley Cain is a medical technologist in microbiology, and spends her days examining unmentionable specimens! She is married to musician Mark; they have two extremely handsome sons, now young adults, plus pets: two dogs, and a parrot (all rescues). Cheryl has been a member of several different writing clubs, and her dream goal of having her first book published is about to come true: "Redemption on the Red River" is a historical adventure romance, and will be released in Spring of 2011. Cheryl has already begun plotting her next novel!
